Ribbon-Cutting with Kistler Ford Sales, Inc.

We visited Kistler Ford of Toledo, Ohio, to celebrate their collision center expansion. OAQDA helped them with financing for three new paint booths, which will keep their employees and community healthier and safer through reduction of toxic emissions and energy usage. This was a celebration of their hard work and leadership in improving air quality for their community. Special thanks to Toledo Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz for joining us!


 

Interview with Eric Warren

We talked to Eric Warren, owner of Henry's Dry Cleaners and Care Center in Cleveland, about his family's history there and what OAQDA's recent grant approval means for not only his business, but his community.


 

Presenting Esteem Cleaners with a giant-sized check

OAQDA Executive Director Christina O'Keeffe visited Esteem Cleaners, of Parma Heights, Ohio, to present them with a giant-sized check for their grant. Esteem Cleaners was approved last fall by the Authority for funding, and meeting with Esteem Cleaners owner TJ confirmed their commitment to improving air quality for their employees and their community.


 

Mercury Cleaners

In March 2019, OAQDA approved Mercury Cleaners for up to $76,000 in funding to replace their old dry cleaning machine that used toxic solvents with one that uses biodegradable, healthier solvents. Now, their employees and their community are safer, and they are working hard with their new machine, pictured here with Mercury Cleaners owner Brandon McCann, Mike McCann, and manager Karen Fitzwater.

Partnering to help Small Businesses: OCAPP and the Ohio Air Quality Development Authority

Did you know that OAQDA acts as the Small Business Ombudsman for the State of Ohio? We collaborate with Ohio EPA on the Office of Compliance Assistance and Pollution Prevention (OCAPP) to help Ohio's small businesses understand and comply with EPA regulations. Here's Dan Sowry from OCAPP talking about our partnership.

Long Cleaners

Long Cleaners, in Miamisburg, was approved in 2018 for financing to replace their old dry cleaning machine with a new one that doesn't use PERC, a carcinogenic solvent. With OAQDA's help, they're making their employees and their community safer.
